One million Albertans do…
but who cares for them?

Help us care for those who care. Nominate an unpaid Alberta caregiver to win the ultimate getaway package.

One in four Albertans over the age of 15 are actively caring for a loved one right now. Help us show them how much we care.

Unpaid caregivers are our province’s unsung heroes. Each year, they provide 647 million hours of caregiving across the province: an economic contribution valued at $12 billion.

Caregivers are essential to a thriving community, but the challenges of caring for someone else often lead to loneliness, isolation, financial hardship, emotional distress, and burnout.

Without their love and sacrifice, our healthcare system would collapse.

Join us in making sure they don’t walk alone by nominating the caregivers in your life to win one of three Fairmont Caregiver Getaway Packages.

Caregivers are all around us.

They are our neighbours, colleagues, friends, teammates and acquaintances.

Caregivers support their loved ones in many different situations and circumstances:

  • An adult caring for their aging parent
  • A parent caring for a child with disabilities
  • A spouse caring for their partner facing injury or illness

Becoming a caregiver is often unexpected and happens in an instant. Regardless of the situation, the challenges they face often look the same and the need for support is universal.

May is Caregiver Awareness Month. To honour Alberta’s unpaid family caregivers, we created this campaign to reach out and support more caregivers, and give you the opportunity to recognize their contribution and show them some love.
