ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN

May is Caregiver Awareness Month

On Monday, May 6, Caregivers Alberta launched the “Who Cares?” campaign to recognize and support the incredible unpaid caregivers in our province. This is also an opportunity to spread awareness about the invaluable resources available to help caregivers in our communities.

Unpaid caregivers are the backbone of our healthcare system, providing essential care for loved ones facing challenges due to aging, illness, or disabilities. The impact they have on our province and economy is astounding:

  • One in four Albertans over the age of 15 is actively caring for a loved one right now
  • Annually, they provide 647 million hours of care to a family member or friend
  • Their contributions save Alberta $12 billion each year

But who cares for the caregivers? We do, and we need your help.

We are inviting you to nominate an unpaid caregiver in Alberta for the opportunity to win one of three Fairmont Caregiver Getaway packages valued at $3,000.

Individuals can nominate a deserving caregiver (or themselves) to be recognized for their hard work and dedication. Nominated caregivers may have the chance to win prizes or be featured in the campaign.
